After the first night we noticed what it means to live in a Houseboat in Amsterdam. It seems that a Houseboat requires some amount of maintenance. So it came that there was lack of warm water. But a quick call to PhilDutch took care of this issue.

Food Intolerance

Travelling with a food intolerance can be bad when you’re not prepared in the right way. Amsterdam is has much to offer for people that require a special diet. Since we’re here for New Years Eve and a Dutch tradition is to eat Oliebollen. We have to take care of fetching some.

A short walk

Getting coffee in the Morning is a great start in the day and so we decided to head to Ibiza for a breakfast coffee. Our walk lead us along the Albert Cyupt Market. The market is vibrant and buzzing of tourists and residents. At Ibiza we ordered White Widdow and a Kush at a moderate rate. The large flat screen in the lounge was featuring Discovery Channel and the tunes are smooth. When you’re around in a larger group. Here you might find a good place for your stay.

Walking east

Amsterdam has a nice place when you happen to have celiac disease called the Glutenvrije Winkel. It’s located in the east and a walk around that part of the down offered a great opportunity. The preordered Oliebollen and some groceries, that can’t be handled at AH or Dirk, where put together quickly. Nadja was pleased to help us and the fresh Oliebollen where amazing. After a short chat our journey continued.

A new spot

After being to Amsterdam a couple of times you think you found everything. But as we walked around we found something we didn’t notice till now. A great coffeeshop just around the corner of our last stop. Smoke Palace has a nice menu. It’s a spacious coffeeshop and serves some small snacks for a great price. When you stay close by make sure to check out their WAKE’N BAKE breakfast.

Heading back home

On our way home we made sure to visit a famous spot in Amsterdam, it’s a small shop with a lovely menu. Their White Ballon at 2.3g for €20 is a great offer and also their house strain. You can’t go wrong with it. During our stay we enjoyed a bowl that are there just for you to use. The drinks in Het Ballonnetje are great and the athmosphere is amazing. We are always happy to take a seat while around the area and you will also have the chance to talk to some Amsterdam residents.

After our visit to Het Ballonnetje we continued our walk along towards our stay and found some interesting things on our way. We stumbled upon a graffiti that spans a complete building.

A bar that doesn’t serve women but see for yourself. With that last impressions we leave you in tension for the next days.
