The Stone's

Coffeeshop
About

Stone's has a longer history than its address suggests. The brand established itself in De Wallen, but those original shops lost their licenses to zoning changes and now trade as a pub and café. This is the last remaining Stone's coffeeshop — it took over the former Kabouter premises around 2014, which is why some signage and listings still call it "The New Stone's."

It sits on the Ruysdaelkade, the long street running along the Boerenwetering canal, about ten minutes' walk from the Rijksmuseum and within reach of the Albert Cuypmarkt, Sarphatipark and the Heineken Experience. Oude Pijp is busy, multicultural and heavily local.

Buy-and-go. Reviewers are clear there's no real seating. The menu is the reason to come: a fairly large list with recognized old-school Amsterdam strains at the core, some modern genetics alongside, a small selection of traditional imported hash, and usually at least one domestic nederhasj. Prices sit well below the Centrum, which for a spot this close to the museums is the main argument for the walk.
