Resin
CoffeeshopAbout
Resin sits on Hekelveld, a small square at the north end of Spuistraat where it forks off Martelaarsgracht — about five minutes and 350 meters from Centraal Station. That makes it a natural first or last stop of a trip, and the shop leans into it: luggage is welcome inside, which most central shops won't allow.
The interior is the reason to pick this one. Hand-painted nature scenes wrap around the walls, with cannabis figures worked into them, and the whole room sits under a green glow that reviewers describe as somewhere between a jungle and a Miami nightclub. There's cushioned seating, a narrow staircase up to a small balcony overlooking the main room, and — as far as anyone can tell, uniquely in Amsterdam — an indoor swing. The music runs to reggae, classic rap and hip-hop. Own smoking devices are permitted, and unlike some shops here, they do actually serve coffee.
The menu is compact and evenly split, roughly ten weed and ten hash, with pre-rolls. Formerly The Pool Dog.
