Espresso

Espresso is the out-of-town member of The Coffeeshops family — sister shop to Siberië, De Republiek, De Supermarkt and Loft — and the only coffeeshop serving the Mijdrecht and Nieuwveen area, which is why it's consistently busy despite the location.

It's also the group's showpiece: the building is fully modular, solar-powered and built from biodegradable materials, billed as the world's most sustainable coffeeshop. The result is a bright, clean, modern room that reviewers repeatedly contrast with the usual dark and cluttered shop interior. The menu is broad, changes often enough to keep regulars trying new things, and is lab-tested like the rest of the group's shops. Edibles and CBD get more shelf space here than at most. Staff know the stock and will talk it through.

No smoking on site — this is a buy-and-go shop. There's free parking directly outside, which is the practical reason most people drive here.
