Vondel

Vondel sits on the Overtoom, a few minutes' walk from Vondelpark and within reach of Museumplein, the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum. That combination — park on one side, museums on the other, tram stops outside — makes it the practical stop for anyone doing the Oud-Zuid circuit without wanting to head back into the center.

The room is bright and plainly done: wide windows, a lot of natural light, two floors of seating. Downstairs is for pure smokers, upstairs for tobacco — a split worth knowing before you sit down. The menu runs to genuine top-shelf, with hazes and hybrids at the upper end of the price range alongside cheaper everyday options, plus pre-rolls, edibles and branded accessories. Tobacco substitute and rolling gear are available to use. Two resident cats live in the shop and are, by unanimous review consensus, the main attraction.
