Cannacenter Best Friends - Oud-Zuid

One of three Best Friends cannacenters in the city, alongside Oost (the original, founded 1995) and Zuidoost. The group describes its mission as creating a safe smoking haven in Amsterdam, and the Oud-Zuid shop puts it in a specific spot: near the southern entrance of the Vondelpark, between Surinameplein, the Overtoom, Hoofddorpplein and Haarlemmermeerstation, a short walk from the Koninginneweg–Zeilstraat crossing. In the group's own phrase, it stands with its back to the affluent side of Oud-Zuid and its face to the old working-class Schinkel.

The interior is modern and notably clean, with a one-way system through the shop. No smoking inside — buy and go. Prices are consistently called out as some of the best in the city, and the staff draw unusually warm notices; regulars mention being remembered by name and order.

The menu is deliberately narrow. Best Friends stocks a smaller range and keeps the same strains in rotation rather than chasing new arrivals — staff will tell you so directly if you ask. It's indica-weighted, with filtered hash and Cali flower. Whether that's a feature or a limitation depends on what you want: consistency over novelty.
